Who did you think was going to win the Carano vs Cyborg fight?
I almost knew Cyborg was going to win…. Shes just too strong and too big… But i was hoping for Carano

i don’t really think it was one sided….
cyborg went for takedowns and got reversed and landed on the bottom in gina’s mount
if gina wasn’t an idiot and stayed in the mount she could have stopped the fight the first time
it was also shitty how the fight ended that close to the bell even tho it clearly beat the bell

I wasn’t surprised at all with how the fight went and it ended as I expected except it was a TKO instead of KO. Carano was not ready for someone like Cyborg but if she is a true competitor then she will learn from this loss and train properly next time.

Did they both make weight? Cyborg just looked enormous next to Carano. Cyborg looks like she did a couple cycles of roids at some point in her life.

I was hoping for Carano but I’m not shocked or anything. I’ve seen Cyborg Santos a number of times and I know she can definately bring it.
Great fight, and I don’t know if I think it was "one sided". But that is a moot point. The best fighter in women’s MMA is clearly Cris Cyborg Santos.

First Kimbo now Carano. Poor Showtime lol.
Like Kimbo before her I was glad that Carano lost. She is a phony just like Kimbo was proven to be. Her first ‘real’ fight and she was destroyed. It really wasn’t a contest.
The only thing that impressed me about Carano,was that she was able to get out of the arm-bar. Other than that she was over-matched and was treated like a rag doll by Cyborg.
She basically just quit. She knew it would be stopped if she didn’t fight back and it should have been stopped a lot sooner than it was.
She is lucky that it didn’t go another round. I don’t think that she even wanted it to go another round lol. I wish that it did,just to enjoy watching her take more of a beating.
Advice for Carano: Gina,you fought like a girl. Quit and pose for playboy before you lose your so-called pretty face for good.
One last thing: Any white person that wears cornrolls or dreads deserves to take a beating.

Same here, I was hoping. You could just about see the end results soon as the fight began. Cyborg was too quick, too strong, too athletic. But Gina had her shot, and she stood up. Why in the hell did she stand up ?

Carano finally got exposed. Strikeforce has been feeding her cans building her bogus rep, MMA ain’t a beauty contest. She needs to work on her ground game, striking, and cardio.
Cyborg won’t lose anytime soon. Too aggressive, too strong, well-rounded. Unless Mega Mu packs on 30 lbs.
And those complaining of a BS stoppage, Carano would’ve gotten her face smashed even worse if it had gone to a 2nd.

I was definitely rooting for Cyborg!
I mean, she knows the career she is in and she adapts to that career.She looks like a freakin’ machine!
I really didn’t even take Carano seriously as a fighter.Even my bf was like "pfffft.She’s just a little girl who looks like she could be somebody’s mom.You could kick her ass.Whats with the hype?We already know Cyborg is gonna wipe the floor with her".The only reason anyone rooted for Carano was because she’s a pretty little girl.
Cyborg on the other hand, she takes her career seriously.She knows that she’s a fighter and she doesn’t try to be something else.

I really don’t believe the fight was that one sided. Yes, she took a severe beating; but she wasn’t going to lose any other way. The result had much to do with the physical disparity between the fighters. Gina’s lack of conditioning was obvious from the beginning. Her skills in muay thai and heart of a lion kept her afloat for most of the fight, but her offensive game was virtually non-existant. She has never been very good at exploiting the openings she so masterfully creates, but this time she was especially hesitant. She must have been exhausted and possibly psychologically shaken. I don’t think she’s too experienced with stronger opponents(discounting that punching bag who did nothing but tackle her for 3 rounds). Maybe, if she wasn’t pulverized at the last second, round 2 would have seen a clearer head and a genuine attempt at victory, or maybe she would have collapsed.
tl;dr Gina Carano needs to hit the gymn as hard as she hits the ring, er ah…octagon.

Have to call a spade a spade though. Both fighters showed embarrassingly poor grappling..
